For ExactScan to access the scanner make sure no otherapplication (such as the ScanSnap manager) is open and thus accessing the scanner exlusively. You might find some additional background takss blockign the scanenr using Apple's Activity Monitor.app.
How to revert to a previous version after an update?

For portability, our new Linux and Windows versions are using a simple ~/.exactscan*.rc text JSON file respecively.
